SAVE SPARROW CAMPAIGN

World Sparrow Day 2025 Conducted a 2-day awareness campaign on sparrows on the occasion of World Sparrow Day 2025, held on March 20 & 22, 2025. The event was organized at Dighal Haku, Barekuri Village, and Barekuri High School, Tinsukia. The awareness campaign on March 20, 2025, took place at the residence of Biraj Borgohain, who has been providing shelter to over 100 sparrows in his own house. On the same day, nest box distribution was done at Barekuri Village in the presence of Diplob Chutia, the man behind the Hoolock Gibbon conservation efforts in that village.

The awareness campaign concluded on March 22, 2025, with a drawing competition on birds of Assam among students, nest box distribution , nest installation and an insightful discussion on sparrow conservation at Barekuri High School.
